Baby gowns!

I forgot to post these cute pictures from when we took David and Margot to their nephrology appointment. They got to wear baby hospital gowns! We have had several doctor's appointments in the past few weeks (nephrology, flu shots (regular and H1N1), synagis shots (Margot did NOT like this one)....we all had a bad cold last week but are healthy now....

David and Margot are teething and continuing to amaze us with how adorable they are. They are both teething and are getting very close to sitting on their own and crawling (David will be crawling any day now, we think). We have had several outings over the past few days which have been lots of fun. The twins are so good in public! They went to brunch with Jane and some Kappa friends, saw their cousin/aunt Sarah perform, and had dinner with more Kappas. Here are some fun shots from the past few weeks. And you will see that we finally got a good one of Margot in the rocking horse!

Holidays

It has been a busy month! David and Margot have been amazing us with their charm and growth! David is now 15 lbs, 9 oz (as of Friday, when they got their H1N1 vaccinations), and Margot is 13 lbs, 3 oz. They both are rolling over all the time and are getting oh so close to sitting up on their own. They prefer to be where the action is at all times and have been dining with us in their bumbos frequently.

Thanksgiving was fantastic. We had a wonderful dinner at Pat & Cheryl's where everybody got to play with the twins. We then went to Andre's for the Plaza Lights. David and Monique's daughter Lauren got to play together. It was precious!

Another fun outing was lunch with Becky, Marci, and Anna. Anna is getting so big (and she can show us she's "so big")!

We took a trip to Ottawa to visit aunt Nelle last week. It was so much fun to see her and Bud and Mary Lynn. The twins were thrilled to meet more of their family members. They were so good on the car ride and had lots of fun playing at Nelle's.

Halloween

We went to Manhattan for Halloween. We dressed David and Margot up as a skeleton (David) and a witch (Margot) - and also as a dog (David) and a duck (Margot). We went to Bubba's cousin Bridget's engagement party, and it was so much fun. Congratulations to Bridget and Marc!

6 months!

The twins turned 6 months old yesterday!!! I can't believe it has been half a year since they were born. Whoa. We had the 6 month doctor appointment today. David is 14 lbs, 1 oz, and Margot is 11 lbs, 8 oz! Their doctor was very happy with their size and said they looked great. They got 4 shots each and were sooooo not thrilled about that! But now they are asleep in their cribs like little angels.....

October fun

We have had a fun week! Last Friday, David and Margot each rolled over (from their tummies to their backs). And yesterday Margot laughed for the first time. She was giggling at Martha. :) They have also been to a couple of parties - a sip and see for Rory and Delaney and Nathan Syrett's first birthday party. They are very good in public! Such good babies. Also, we tried putting the babies in their exersaucers. They LOVE them!

Milestones

We had our first trip with the babies this weekend when we went to Manhattan, KS for our friends' wedding. While we were there, David and Margot hit some milestones. David rolled himself over to his side - almost all the way over to his stomach - for the first time. And, even more fun, David and Margot coo-ed to each other! It was incredible. Also, Debbie had Bubba's old silver rattle which was the perfect size for the babies to hold and play with. And we found out that David and Margot LOVE the "caveman television" - or fire in the fireplace. They were entranced by it. :)

What a weekend!

I had a bad cold this weekend, but we still had a lot of fun. David and Margot tried their Johnny-Jump-Ups for the first time, and it was a success. Margot loved hers so much that she fell asleep in it.

We moved the pack and play into Ba and Da's den (because Da was putting together the second crib in their satellite nursery), and they had a nice time in it. Margot kept trying to hold David's hand. It was so cute. David is always trying to eat his fist (the boy has an appetite)....he even tried to eat Margot's arm! Ha!

Martha and Chris brought over some new outfits for the twins, including these K-State onesies and bibs that they wore during the KSU vs Iowa State game. So cute!:

No pictures, but time for an update

I have been waiting on updating the blog until I can find my lost camera...but it has been too long! I will just have to go picture-less with this update. David and Margot are playing with toys! Monday, September 21, I put Margot down on her back under the play gym at Ba's house. I was tending to David and realized that Miss Margot had been pretty quiet for a while. I looked down and saw that she was grasping/playing with the big peacock toy that Ba had hanging off the gym! She laid there and played for 30 minutes! It was so wonderful. Then Mr. David followed suit on Tuesday. He didn't want his sister to have all the fun.

Everyone is happy and healthy. David and Margot are getting very good at sleeping through the night. Thank goodness! There are still 2-3 nights/week that one of them will wake up around 3 or 4 am ready to eat, but that is a big improvement over where we were a few weeks ago. When they are not sleeping, the precious angels are keeping us entertained with their coos and smiles. It is absolutely adorable. I can't wait to find my camera so I can post some pictures.....

Happy 4 month birthday!

David and Margot turned 4 months old yesterday!  Time flies when you're having this much fun.  We went to thier 4-month doctor appointment and found out that David is 11 lbs, 3 oz, and Margot is 8 lbs, 11 oz!  They still don't register on the 4 month growth charts (they are below 3%), but they have grown really well for being preemies.  

Another fun tidbit I am happy to report is that David and Margot are pretty consistently sleeping through the night now!  They are always getting at least 5-6 hours of sleep in a row.  And some nights one of them will even go 9 hours or more!  Hooray!

The Bumbo sessions

We recently tried out the Bumbos that Marci gave us.  Day 1 was a success for Margot.  David was not so thrilled as you can see in the pictures below:
